Recently, I worked on the end-to-end CX for Enrolled Users, a new deployment model for enterprises to connect with their customers at-home. The final CX allows end users to manage their enrollment and access personalized features and content on their personal Echo devices.

Other design initiatives that I led design for:

  1. Designing the console CX for enterprises/property owners who don't want to integrate with ASP APIs.

  2. Improving usability by simplifying enrollment into a one-click experience.

  3. Envisioning Northstar Alexa-enabled 3P experiences delivered to personal Echo Show devices.

Delivering Proactive Content using the Alexa Smart Properties Console

Personalized content for multimodal devices is a key value driver for ASP customers. We launched features that enable customers to engage with their end-users by enabling a way for properties to deliver proactive content at scale. Properties would be able to deliver content such as rotating home cards to residents of senior living communities that highlight weekly events on the property, or personalized offers and discounts to guests staying at a hotel.

Previously, it would take ASP customers 2-3 months to integrate with APIs that allow them to create and deliver content. The new CX allows customers to build their custom content with support for notifications, announcements, persistent visual alerts, and proactive campaigns across different locales in just a few minutes using the ASP console dashboard.

Enabling Name-Free Interactions for ASP Property Skills

Alexa Smart Properties launched a suite of self-service tools enhancements for onboarding and enabling name-free interactions for Alexa Smart Properties skills in NA and EU. Name-free interaction is a table-stakes feature for property skills as end-users (e.g., hotel guests, residents in senior living communities, and healthcare patients) lean into natural ways to make requests, rather than having to remember a skill by name.

I created the CX for NFI enablement features via the Alexa Smart Properties Console, allowing customers to enable one or more skills with NFI directly from a single interface. This launch added in-development stage testing and automated model building, reducing the previously manual process from 18 weeks to less than 8 weeks.

Accelerating Custom Skill Development for ASP Customers

The Alexa Smart Properties Skill Template was started in early 2022 with the goal to reduce cost and dependencies of enterprise customers who're looking to provide personalized Alexa experiences to on the properties. Customers can use this tool to bootstrap custom Alexa skills in as fast as 2 weeks, reducing the time and cost to ship Alexa solutions to their properties.

I was brought in to close the gaps and lead the end-to-end design for ASP's hospitality, healthcare, and senior living verticals for the beta launch in early Feb 2023.
